Well, we made it down to Melbourne Florida to stay with some friends and enjoyed the weekend. The waves were at least head high but closing out. I was discouraged by the mile long closeout waves so I opted not to get pummeled on the longboard and was the photographer instead. I find that as I get older I become a lot more picky about surfing. I like clean open waves and have more fun watching when they are big and nasty, rather than subjecting myself to a beating.
We did see some turtles hatching which was so cool. I have never seen them digging out of the sand like that. Pretty amazing! I hope they make it out past the big sets.
